Default Eye Candy at the shop today

Thought I'd share some cel phone pics I took this morning of some of the cars that were being worked on at the shop where I'm having my 912 motor rebuilt. I kinda got side tracked and almost forgot why I'd gone down there ....

At the door:

Inside on the first lift: Arctic Silver/Black, less than 2000 miles ...

And, I think most of you will recognize this car ...

Nice ... I'd wanna grab a sleeping bag & spend the night there

(... as an alternative, Song1's seats would suit just fine!!!)

I love the idea of the singer. I hope the issues the road test uncovered improve.

Yes, those seats are incredible, the pictures I've seen don't do them justice. I wish I'd taken more closeups of the 'Recaro' imprint on the side plates, it was a piece of art in it's own right ...

Oh, and BTW, the next Singer is white ... :-)

^^ Correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but I think the name 'Singer' is a nod to the car company's builder/designer/owner Rob Dickinson's rock music fame/background as lead singer of the group Catherine Wheel ...??

Stunning. The Singer Design 911 is my dream car. I'm in awe.

More about Rob (pictured above) & singing, plus 2 cameo appearances of his 911 that may have influenced the prototype Singer in Tony's ^^ video...

Ed-- I've enjoyed the Catherine Wheel's music for years.
It was amazing to find Speedy next to the first production Singer 911 (license plate "Song1"), but even better to meet Rob & chat Porsches with him.

Watch this cameo by a special celebrity at 3:00 - 3:20 on Rob's 2006 video:

Short glimpse during the 'making of video' at 1:10 - 1:20...

Rob Dickinson's obviously an artist with vision & passion; talented at bringing dreams to reality.

Blonde was a little rough looking, but the 911 looked good!

Blue/Red GT3RS is cool. So is 993Turbo S. But the Singer brings me to my knees.

Thanks JP!

The last isuue of Excellence (Dec. 2010) featured a story by editor Pete Stout on that exact car. Basically said the suspension still needed some tweaking and that the car didn't feel as fast as it should given the HP claims.

To me, the suspension setup is the easy part. They were just hot to get it in the press while they had some opportunity.
