No affiliation, just saw this. I wonder what $17k in major service was, top end?

I had spoken to the seller. Not the owner. One of those situations. Owner had CEL light come on. It was taken to Jim Ellis Porsche dealership in ATL and they sold him a top end, etc. $17K RO.
The seller was a friend of the owner and he was showing the car to someone when we were speaking. That person bought the car.
The car was rear ended, $3800 repair which is fairly light. Accident label on Carfax. Front had some light scrapes and lower grill was damaged. No big deal. So, when you see a great deal for $26K, there tends to be a story that makes it not a steal.
Overall, sold for a fair value.

Is there any honor among theives? My first clue to ask that question is when someone is selling a car on behalf of a friend, brother, father (religious and family), and others. Is a light hit in the rear a deal closer? No. Does it affect value? Sure by about 10-15%. But at $26,000, the valuation adjustment was reflected in the price, I think!
If that person did not buy it "on the spot", I would have committed subject to a Rennfax and a PPI. Jim Ellis doing a top end, steering rack, etc. made it appealing.
