Dommorton,
Yes, the measurement was taken from an old mount. I had one good and one bad mount. The motor listed a bit on one side. I had the car up on 4 stands as I also worked on the shift rod seal. It seemed that the shift rod and gearbox shaft didn't lign up right w/o the spacer in the motor mount. The motor seemed to be at an upward angle towards the back. The exhaust tips started to hit the bumper too. OK, that could be readjusted but I'm still convinced that there is a difference. It's possible that my motor was low with the worn mounts but I worked on this car a lot, from changing oil to plugs, shifter seal and a complete new suspension. As the motor builds fairly long with the gearbox attached, I think I would have noticed a weird angle along the length of the car. I could tell the left and right side listing immediately. That's why I changed the mounts in the first place.
I'm just trying to make the people aware that there might be a difference. In my case it was 9mm. Maybe it helps somebody else when he/she discover a difference as well.
I think to be absolutely certain, we would have to have the 2 engine carriers and related mounts side by side.

The 9mm you mention was a measurement taken from an old C2 mount was it not? We need someone with a brand new C2 mount and a brand new C4 to take some comparisons for us to be sure of any differences.
There are 3 different engine carriers, one for the C2 & C4, one for the RS and one for the Turbo

In my search i did not find the other thread about the different carriers/mounts althoug i participated in it.

My brand new RS mounts will lift the engine about 6-8 mm compared to my old C4 mounts.

I will post the measurements of my engine carrier later this week when i get it back from powder coating.
