Keep it simple, Black caps as in the photograph above and spend the money on a good assortment of wheel cleaning brushes.

Funny Cristel...I tried the same thing and failed.

I am having them shipped to my Indi shop to avoid dirty looks from wife. (Nothing worse than an angry wife in the cold gray of Michigan December! I know when spring comes and her gardens are in full bloom she will be too happy to care!)

BBS LMs will look awesome. The BBS LM is a 2-piece wheel and I never unserstood why they don't make this wheel with deeper outer hoops. That would look great. Anyways, I'm not sure of the BBS LMs are available with gold centers? Would look great though on the arena red .

Regarding the deeper outer hoop, check out this custom made BBM LM wheel on a widebody Porsche (yes I know it's a 996 but you get the picture)

You're right John but I really think it's a KILLER look . But then again, I kind of like the "German style" wheels with deep outer hoops and lowered cars.

Soory for the semi-OT.

Gold on silver, no centercaps. Still have not had a chance to snap good pics, but you get the idea.

I like 'em a lot. I wasn't 100% sure when I ordered them, but the hole in my wallet made sure there was no post-purchase dissonance.

Get the lips polished Andy... I can almost guarantee that the stock painted lips will receive some damage during a tire change/install. Plus this will provide you with something else to polish.

I'm still undecided on the AR/gold bbs look - perhaps the graphite color shown above would be a nice original move... Maybe some custom AR caps...?

AFAIK, BBS LM's have lips that are clear-coated. They are not raw and polished aluminum.

Nick, that is an iteresting thought. I always liked a titanium or Graphite as well. I think Mark in B is right about the clear coat...but essentially that is just another variation on paint that can be damaged by tire machines. Do you know a good source on the east side of the state that can polish the rims (and paint the centers for that matter) when they are apart?

***just a note about Nick (Nurburger)...I have taken him to the alter and abondoned him several times on wheels he was selling but I ended up buying new from a vendor instead. If it were anyone else they would not give me the time of day but Nick is a class act...and still out here helping me out. I real Rennlister IMO! Thanks Nick

Yes - the stepped portion of the lip on the LM's have a machined/clear coated finish. The very outer portion of the lip is painted silver/clear coated & is quite vulnerable. I've had a few sets of LM's for various cars & they do tend to receive marks during tire installation - even with an experienced and cautious tech.

Andy - I don't know of anyone on the east side, though I have a great source local to me (he's mobile & comes to the house). The good thing is that the Lm's are extremely easy to disassemble for painting (have the lips polished first).
