Default OT: New DD - A Brit joins the Germans

After much debate, I finally decided on a new DD.
As I am now driving a minimum of 90 miles/ day on mostly highway roads, I wanted a comfortable, yet sporty, car.
The Jaguar XKR fit all of my want/ need lists and I found a factory representative Demo with <5k miles where Jaguar was adding a 6year/ 100,000mi warranty plus their 24hr roadside assistance program.

It's Pearl Grey with a Charcoal interior.

The back end has haunches to rival a WB!

Here it is sitting in the garage with the 993 - it's amazing how small the 993 is comparatively!

In good Rennlist fashion, I'm already planning my first mod: 35% Ceramic Tint sides and back.

Congrats on the new DD. I really like the body design of the XKRs. It's all so very Aston-looking (for obvious reasons.)

I took one out for a decent test drive last fall. It was from the Jag dealer in Westlake-Thousand Oaks, so I was able to take it on some nice back road twistys in the Santa Monica Mountains. I was pretty impressed with the performance. The all aluminum chassis does reduce the heavy feeling you might normally get with these cars; the car stayed nicely planted with no real noticeable body roll. And that Roots SC really adds the right punch.

Plus it has just the right kind of comfort in the cabin. Great adjustable seats and the Bowers and Wilkins sound system is pretty decent.

p.s., what's on the trunk? Did somebody add a shark fin? The one I drove didn't have that; it had all clean lines in the rear. The clean design is so perfect with the XKR.

Clean styling never ages.

BTW, you mean an Indian joins the Germans.

Needs a Nano next to it in the garage. Seriously, very nice ride there. Should be perfect for the DD.

Also, I'm interested to hear about your impression on interior materials, quality of assembly, creaks, rattles, etc.

thanks

That's what I assumed but the one I test drove also had sat radio/nav, etc., but the factory antenna is in the spoiler. That shark fin pretty much spoils the rear trunk design, imho. 90% of my interest in the car at the time was because of the design; it's quite stunning.
