Default imobilized...

Hello and thanks for reading my thread.

The other day I took out my 97 993 and noticed the front passanger seat would not move. The car started right up and i went on to a bussy day of stop and go.
I parked the car a couple of hours later and sat in the car for about 10 mins.

The car function as it should untill I turn it to start. I played the imobilizer game and after loosing ten times in a row I got out of the car, locked it and walked away for ten mins.

Car starts first try. Two mile later I stop at a store for 2 mins and the car starts first time. One mile later I stop for five mins then nothing.

The alarm workes, the locks and lights and everything i checked also work.
The lights all go out including the imobilizer light but nothing when i turn it over.

The next day I bring a fresh battery (hoping) and the car started right up.

I drove her 2 miles and parked. Two hours later...nothing when i turn it over.

The next day I bring a new relay for r63. Nothing still...

The passenger seat now works again.

Is this the imobilizer unit under the passenger seat signing off?

Are your warning lights (LEDs or dash light) doing anything?

Suggest you do a search on the forum and re-read our posts on the dreaded clutch switch malfunction. The erratic behavior you're experiencing could be just that. The clutch micro-switch could be a) out of alignment and need adjustment or b) Going bad. It's an easy operation to simply by-pass it. Hopefully, that will solve your problem.
