993 vs c63
Well ran up to home depot and some darn teenager followed me for 3 miles looking for a race.
I finally gave in and did a 30 mph punch start. I hit it just right and took off like a rocket and took the lead.
I jumped well ahead at first ,but then his extra hp started kicking in. However, we hit a stop sign before he could catch me all the way.
He turned around without saying anything and left.
I know he would have beat me in the right situation, but it shows sometimes it is the driver.
Or maybe it was my new fister 3's that helped me win!

Sometimes its the driver? Umm, try that from a dead start, instead of deciding to punch it all of a sudden at 30mph, and see what happens. You'd lose.
I love our 993s, but they, and you, and everyone else here, could not beat a C63 from a dead stop in a drag race, sorry. Sounds more like you got a jump on him only because after 3 miles he may have assumed you weren't game.
The only 993 that would have a chance, is a Turbo.
Sometimes its the driver; sometimes its 450 horsepower vs. 282.

I think the kid was even racing you or he would have smoked you. You probably caught him while he was changing tunes on his Ipod.
The AMG C63 0-60 times are 3.9 seconds, and with traction control and 7G-tronic all he needed to do was to press the pedal to the metal, no skill necessary. That thing is truly a torque monster.

http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/...s-benz/c-class
C/D Overview:
The company’s smallest sedan in the States, the C-class can feel a bit small and cheap inside. Available in Luxury or Sport trim, the handsome C-class can be configured to satisfy just about any driver. The AMG-tuned C63 is a radical (0-to-60 mph in 3.9 seconds) and tempting alternative to BMW’s M3.
Look at the video I posted above and time from when it starts to move, to when it reaches 60. Just 4 seconds. Try that on the 993.
Even at the conservative MB rating of 4.3 secs is faster than the 993. And even from a 30mph rolling start, the 480 plus pounds of torque would have surpassed the pulling power of the 993 easily while you are still reaching for third gear.
As much as I love my 993, this is not a race I would have picked. Take him to the twisties with fast switchbacks and you may have a chance.

Given the situation and the annoying kid following me ... I did what anybody would have done. Plan your "race" , like David vs Goliath.
Not a race... Have you ever played football and had to tackle a giant, you hit his legs with you shoulder pads and he stumbles and falls. That is a tackle regardless of how you executed it.

As I said, it sounds like you felt good being able to beat this teenager in your "race". It also sounds like you've come to the conclusion that it was your superior driving skills that had everything to do with it, too. Congratulations.
I can't wait to hear about your next planned race against other teenagers. My suggestion is Justin Beiber in a Bugatti Veyron while he's distracted signing autographs. My money's on you, big guy. Go get 'em!

Bsbsbsbsbs.... I guess you can't read. It was a thirty punch race.... Not a drive by. If he felt it was unfair, he would have not done a u turn and headed back in the other way. There was plenty of room after the stop sign.
I know you rainbow lovers in LA love cold *****, but I don't play that way.
Why don't you put your money in your great la economy?
