Broken Hydraulic lifter......Need local help
Hey Rennlisters,
I have a 1995 993 with 98k miles. In the Charlotte, NC area it was rather cold today mid 40's. I took the car out of the garage and let her warm up for 15 min, I then took it for a spirited drive, at one point getting the RPM's up to about 6000.
I then stopped at a light, and heard clank, clank, clank coming from the engine area. So i pulled into a parking lot to investigate the best i could. The sounds seems to be coming from the top driver side of the engine. I suspect that the problem is a collapsed lifter.
I am looking for someone local with knowledge of these cars and the love to work on them with some decent garage space. I am on a limited budget with the holidays.
Prior to doing the job, i would like to know a few things. Should i do all 12 lifters? What other parts do i need to i get for this job?
Thanks in advance,
-Steve
