Default Difference between two DMEs

Anyone know the difference between the following ECU's?

My current ECU is 993.618.123.02 and saw this one advertised on ebay 993.618.123.03?

Wondering if they would both be compatible/interchangeable. Thanks.

The only accurate way to delineate the differences between these DME's is by the Bosch numbers.

These are found just above the bar code and thats whats needed to answer your question.

Check out post #4 in the link in my sig. I believe you'll find that your car is an early 95 with the following DME: Porsche # 993.618.123.02 / Bosch # 0.261.203.163

The DME you are looking at is likely from a later 95s w/o Drive Block: Porsche # 993.618.123.03 / Bosch # 0.261.203.674.

Check the Bosch number as Steve as suggested. If they match the numbers I've provided above, the DME should work in your car. You do not want Porsche # 993.618.124.03 / Bosch # 0.261.203.675 as this is for Drive Block cars.

Cheers,
Joe

Well, I can tell you from experience that they are interchangeable. I had the first, and simply plugged the second one in as a replacement. The latter version will allow me to add a varioram to my early 95. Joe has a great write up on the ECUs.
