I finally got my third brake light to work....sort of. It works fine until I turn on the rear defogger, then it stops working.

Here's a semi-terrible picture of what I'm trying to do.

I have a break in the wiring somewhere along the glass, so I'm attempting to run new wires. I left the brown (driver's side) wire connected to the glass. I believe that is the power to the rear defogger.

I've connected the black/red (middle) wire and the red/white (passenger side) wire directly to the leads on the lights. Is one of these wires the ground for the rear defogger?
