I bought this from you. I had a lower bid on it but after your post I went to Gert's website, checked out the product, then raised my bid limit. Thank you. I'm looking forward to getting this, and the six speed it will attach to, in my car.

Smile While your at it...

Mr. Hoggel...consider the FD Motorsports Golden or Platinum shifting rod, and if you are really adventuresome. maybe even the Short Shift Kit...I have the Platinum rod and the SSK from FD Motorsports, great purchases...even had Darin install them for me.

I have asked for the RS shifter and believe that means different shift lever and 'short shift'. Is there something else?
I don't see gold, platinum, or separate short shift on the FD website?

Smile More info....

Redundant, but.....

I read from Mark above, the Platinum rod was discontinued? Hmmmm. Oh well I suppose the Golden Rod is good enough...I know there was a reason I went to the "Platinum" shifter rod, just can recall what it was.

Does this mean my Platinum rod is a collectors item, maybe belongs in a museum?
I hope so!!!!

Thank you Mark.

I've sourced the parts to convert my tiptronic car to manual. The trans came with the "RS short shifter". I'll have to look in the Pile o Parts and see what that is.

1. If my shifter has a ball joint I need your short shift kit?

2. If there is a rubber joint in the shift rod I need the Golden Rod?

I know I know. It would have been easier to sell my car and buy a six speed car. Even though I'm an engineer I'm not always logical.

cool!
I've toyed with that same idea for my cab... quite an undertaking

1. Not sure what you are asking... but our SSK costs less than new Porsche pieces. It is common for people doing an AWD to 2WD conversion to use our SSK and save $$. If you find used, then it's another story.

2. Need? Well... it is really a matter of personal preference. The stock floppy rubber piece insulates the shifter from the trans and allows the driver train to move a bit (the shift lever and box are fixed to the body, of course).
The Golden Rod is an RS style shift rod and greatly improves the shift feel. Much more precise... just less than half the cost of the Porsche RS rod.

Hope that helps!
If you need shift box and other part #s let me know. I have a complete list.

I have the goldenrod and the Rothsport shift, that is why I sold (and shipped today!!) the RS shifter- I made a new boot with some leather that I found in a factory in China..

The joint we used went up in price (again!) and it just wasn't as popular as the GR...
