What can I say? I am now a true believer...Darin is the Grand Mufti of Mufflers...The Emperor of Exhausts! Got mine done in Satin Black and had the straps and sealing clamps done as well. The finish is immaculate. Turn the key and it's like stepping into a time capsule, listening to the "bark" of an early 911 on the grid! The sound at speed is absolutely euphoric and downshifts are icing on the cake, yet, at steady throttle with the windows up, you can actually listen to the radio if so inclined (but who'd want to?). It's so good, he really should include a warning and box of DEPENDs with every Stage III !

Congrats! I am too very interested in either Fister II or III. I am a little worried III may be a bit too loud for me in terms of my neighborhood. I have been listening on some youtube videos and I can tell the difference. Both sound sweet.

Question, how much does this process cost assuming I have to buy and have a independent shop install?
I want to budget for it but have no idea. Estimate?

Installation is very easy - you can do it yourself. I looked around and found a used set of mufflers and had the seller ship directly to Darin. Here's a link with their prices : http://www.fdmotorsports.net/index_files/Page1456.htm . Mark and Darin are awesome to deal with - you've got to make your first FD Motorsports purchase to start yourself down that slope!

Well, having never done it before, and using my buddy's hoist I had them on and the car back on the ground in less then an hour - so any real porsche shop that charges more than an hour labor is...

It depends on what you charge yourself for labor. Jack up the rear spray the bolts with wd-40. Removing old exhaust and installing new is a snap. 30 minutes or less.

I drove out to Darin's a couple of weeks ago to listen to the Stage IIs and IIIs. The IIs sound very nice, the IIIs are pretty awesome - aggressive but not annoying. The IIIs are on my slippery slope list...

Oh - and stage III all the way! I went from supercups to these - so they were actually quieter, but the stage III's have a much better sound imho.

Tony, if you can raise up the rear a couple of inches by putting a couple of boards under the rear tires, you'll have plenty of room to do the job which is one of the easiest to do on a 993. Just takes a couple of wrenches and, as stated, about 1/2 hour. Only danger is if you might let one of the cans slip and fall on your head! Installation is just the reverse of taking them off. pcar.com has a DIY on this.

Well it sounds so easy, but you haven't seen me work on a car. I just tried to give advice to a guy to spray de-icer on his brakes to melt the ice and lubricate them...Geez! I guess I can only go up from here.

I love the sound and I haven't seen one person on here ever bummed out after getting the III's. If I get the II's I may just cause an itch that needs to be scratched for the III's.

Congrats again I would love to hear them.

Get the IIIs. I went from stock to RSRs up to stage IIs up to stage IIIs. I think I got more gurgles and pops (very cool to me) with my driving style with the IIs, but love the sound of the IIIs overall. They are not so loud that you'll feel you made a mistake.

As stated above, the install is super easy.
