Default 996 turbo II wheels

Please help! I have done extensive research here and cannot seem to find the answer to these questions. I am about to go look at a set of 996 turbo wheels that are said to have come off a 2001 turbo for my 1997 C4S. I know that they will fit but I am confused about solid and hollow spokes after too much research. My question is this, is there such a thing as a smooth backed (rounded spoke in the rear as you feel from the outside) solid spoke wheel? I thought that all solid spokes have the two grooves our cut outs on the rear of each spoke. I cant seem to get the part numbers from the seller before I travel an hour to go see them. I know from the pictures that they have rounded smooth backs on the spokes. Anyone have the answer about the grooves in the 996 Turbo Look II wheels? Thanks much for the help.

One easy check is if it has metal valve stems. The hollow do, solids don't. I agree that there is an easy way to feel the back of the spoke to tell, I just don't know what it is. But then, if the sell can't/won't give you the part number, I doubt if he'll describe the back of the spoke.

I just felt mine. There is what feels like two raised lines on the back of each spoke. GL, keep us posted.

They might be aftermarket. Otherwise, why wouldn't he give the part number?

Thanks, guys.
I think I have it straight now. Apparently, from what I can figure, not all solid spoke 996 turbo twist 2 wheels have the grooves cut out on the back of the spokes. And there are some earlier 996 turbos that did come with solid spoke wheels (18 x 8 & 11). So, they can still be solid and feel like hollows-apparently. Much appreciated.

A bathroom scale might give you the answer, I suppose. 22lbs front, 26lbs rear and the solid spoke should be about 4lbs heavier each.
