Default Sloan Cars

Anyone have experience buying or selling from Sloan Cars. I have heard they are very reputable and have the best low mileage cars in the country. I was looking at their ad in Excellence, but some of their cars have ridiculous pricing on them. Are they really selling?

I understand pricing a 89 Speedster with 800 Miles for $125,000 or Flat Nose 964 turbo for $180,000 plus. These are rare cars with low mileage that’s hard to find. The right buyer will pay. If I was a multi millionaire a 89 speedster would be a must have in my collection.

My question is more around the regular cars. 96 C2 w/ 58K Miles $38,900 – 98 C2S w/ 17K Miles $71,900 – 95 C2 Cab w/ 66K Miles $36,900

Are these cars selling at these pricing, or are these Sloan Brand Pricing. Are they coming 15% to 20% off their asking pricing?

If you search Sloan, you'll find lots of threads on them. I've never bought from them so can't really speak from experience.

Many threads on Sloan; peruse them and my guess is your questions will be answered. Any by the way my very first Porsche was a 1989 Speedster and I ain't no millionaire. When I bought it for $39K from a Porsche dealer in North Carolina approx 8 yrs ago, drove it 3,000 miles and sold it 2-3 years later for $42K, I knew I had found a great hobby.

I understand you dont have to be a millionaire to own a 89 speedster, but i wouldnt have a collection (10 plus cars) unless I was.

Have you looked at RPM Sportscars of Houston?

Suggest a call/visit or check the web site http://www.rpmsportscars.com

I have bought from RPM, they usually have a great selection of excellent, low mileage vehicles in outstanding condition, and the Owner - Ray Jospeph, is easy to work with, very knowledgeable and straight forward.

Good Luck

I bought mine from Sloan. Feel free to ask any questions. Was an overall good experience but not without some quirks in the deal.

This one from RPM is sweet! (not a 993, though)

Sounds like high retail pricing BUT if the cars are really excellent with a great paperwork trail, they can be worth every penny because you won't need to put a few thousand into the car right away or have any aggravation in the process. There are several dealers like Sloan out there and the pricing is similar. Holt, TruSpeed, and a few others with very good reputations, and yes, they do sell at these prices, both here and overseas. As far as knocking prices down a bit, you might be able to at this time of year right before the holidays. Good time to look. Good luck if you are looking to buy! You sure have owned a lot of Porsches.

Maybe they sell at those prices but some of the cars literally sit on those lots for a year or more.

Holt currently has photos of cars with snow all around them and it may be fall but it sure is not winter.....

I live 2 miles from Holt. He has great cars and he moves them. I haven't purchased anything from him but I do like to swing by and check the inventory. I just checked his site and I didn't see any snow???

All Holt's cars are stored inside. They're photographed outside because the lighting is better.

I bought from Sloan and had a good experience. Same type of deal you are looking for - a 95 C2 with 35k miles. Richard will negotiate and I believe he understands the difference between a truly special car and a driver.

That is not what I said-

What I said is that if he has cars photo'd outside with snow around them and they are still for sale, that means that he has been sitting on them since there was snow on the ground- last year

kapish?
