I should probably keep this to myself. I was at the lights last night lined up with a Harley. I thought I would take off quick and get in front of him for my next turn. Wrong.
While I wasn't quite at full throttle I wasn't getting past him. Those things are quick and he had some gal on the back too.
I'm pretty sure he had a smirk on his face.

I have ridden a Road King for years. Most Harley are not stock. Because they are sooo much cheaper to work on, most engines are improved, some substantially. Almost instantly, the stock exhaust is replaced, along with the air filters, etc. Then comes the big bore and cam replacement modifications. The real impressive thing with the twin cam Harley motor though is the low end torque. Very fast off the line.

Any newer, PDK equipped Porsche (Cayman, Panamera, and 911) is super-quick of the line. 7 speeds with very short 1st and close ratios adds up to a quick car that even my 89-year-old grandmother could post good times in. Latest Turbo S (PDK standard) is posting 11.0 1/4 miles (one even reported sub 11). Crazy.

Yes, my six-speed Yamaha is rated at 0-60 in 3.1, and red lines at 11 grand.
The "fun factor" is huge.......

Harley's - even modified ones are not very powerful. Sportbikes are another story. Doing a laucnh control start on a public street does't seem like a good idea to me.

Saw on CNN today that Harley is going to start building bikes in India.

Maybe they will start to be a little slower.
