My first one on the drivers side lasted 14 years, and many many miles. I splurged and bought an OEM switch from Pelican for $45. In terms of maintainence costs, $.0002/mile. I can afford it.

Just buy a couple and stick a spare in the glove box. You'll need it sooner vs later and you don't want to be stuck in the rain with a lowered window.
