Hollywood stars & their cars - Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves driving his Porsche 911 in Beverly Hills.
This is the 993 model - the last air-cooled model, and perhaps the most desirable and classy.

Sat next to him on a JFK-LAX flight earlier this year. I was surprised at how down to earth he was - stood at the gate by himself and patiently signed a few autographs (unlike other celebrities who show up at the last minute escorted by the red jackets). Talked to me about the movie biz, and saw a lot of parallels in getting funding for movies, and software startups...and didn't throw his weight around with the other passengers or cabin crew...
Did not know he had a 993 - or I'd have asked!

Update - another stolen 993
Thieves did ^^
...& got crossed off thieves' hit list
Per the current issue of Porsche's Christophorus Magazine, #374:
Reeves indulged his love of motorcycles. However, several motorbike crashes reminded him of their limits—as well as his own. After Point Break and Speed, he was ready for something with four wheels. He decided that a 911 was the car for him.
He settled on a black 911 Carrera 4S (Type 993). With a sunroof and manual transmission, of course. He loved the sound of the Sport Exhaust, but most of all, he says, he loved the feel of the car. “I used any excuse to head up Pacific Coast Highway onto the great canyon roads.” He signed up for the Porsche Driving Experience, took other advanced driver’s training courses, and won the 2009 Celebrity Race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Then, while he was filming a movie away from home, his 911 was stolen.
“The Sled,” as Reeves had named the car because it was sleek and fast, was one of the last of the air-cooled engines, and therefore, he theorizes, a target. After a period of mourning, he approached Porsche’s Customer Consultation Center to discuss a black Carrera 4S (Type 991).

Porsche.com calls it a 993 C4S, but celebrityCarsBlog.com knows "Keanu Reeves Drove a Porsche 993 C4"
P.S. Keith: resisted making another Keanu thread just for you

Interesting that his 993 was stolen and it has a Beverly Hills Porsche license plate frame on it. It makes you think about all the people in LA who have had their 993s stolen who (nearly) all took their cars to BH Porsche.

Once again, Jaeger delivers on his necro-thread bumps! Not only does he revive ancient threads, but brings the goods....tons of pics or new info! How he recalls these threads even existed, I'll never fathom...
^^^Looks like poor Keanu has a new stalker.
I missed the call out the first time I read through this! haha! Yeah, I'm headed down the Ray Calvo, grumpy-ol'-guy, "didn't ya search first??" slope.
PS. Having your 993 stolen would suck, no matter what replacement you pick up. My sympathies, Mr. Reeves.

(Removed tons of Keanu Reeves pictures that Jaeger has been hoarding on his hard drive.)

Hah
To quote RL's "Official Random Joke Thread":
Truth ^^ Another sobering reminder to all keep an eye on your 993's security & check or adjust your insurance policy for its appropriate value in today's market

Good luck and good looks play a far, far greater role.
That said, from all accounts, he's a nice guy with apparently excellent taste in cars
