Default CEL and O2 sensor help

Ever since I have had this 993 the CEL has come on due to the following codes.

16 Sensor ageing ahead of cat 1-3
17 Sensor ageing behind cat 1-3
22 Sensor ageing ahead of cat 4-6
23 Sensor ageing behind cat 4-6
12 O2 sensor behind cat 1-3
208 SAI system 4-6

My understanding was that it was mainly due to the Fabspeed exhaust that I was running and the 02 sensors not getting the correct readings.

I am aware of the "fixes" for this ie; thread adapter or electronic simulator to replicate the signal required from the ECU however... my mechanic has suggested replacing the 4 sensors to see if that fixes the problem. Given that they are probably the original ones it's probably worthwhile doing anyway.

Do I just buy the original ones from Porsche or are they a generic part that are cheaper to buy as say a "Bosche" part for example? If so anyone know exactly what i need to order. Mines a 1996 MY.

At the moment I am clearing the code with the Durametric. Sometimes it won't come on for months and sometimes more frequently. Out of interest when the CEL light comes on does the car go into any form of Limp mode? There is certainly no noticeable difference in performance. I did wonder though if the care ran richer?

Here is a thread I asked earlier in 2009 https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-cel-help.html

I was getting the P1115 code - Oxygen Sensor heating side 1 ahead of Cat - below lower threshold, sometimes other codes. MY 96 w/28K miles.

Replaced with a generic Bosch. $80 and 15- minute job. No problems since.

Awesome thanks for the reply. My mechanic put the Porsche diagnostic on the car and showed the readouts for the sensors and commented that the results were slower than normal and indicated that they could be due for replacement. I can't remember technically how he explained it but I knew what he meant at the time and watching the screen it made sense.

Anyone else had previous experiences or can recommend part numbers for the above sensors?

Can you guys explain your descriptions for me please?

I have seen numerous posts with "OEM parts from Porsche Dealers (Sunset Porsche mainly)" and as above "Bosch generic"

In the UK if you buy a part from Porsche its not OEM its Original Genuine Porsche, OEM is exactly that, Original Equipment Manufacturer, same part but from the source before Porsche put it in its nice grey box.

Bosch are the OEM suppliers for all the electrical parts (on the DME) so they are OEM, not generic...................

Just very confusing..................
