Default Did all C4S cars come with LSD standard?

Thanks for your help. If not would it appear as an option on the bonnet sticker and does anyone know what option code that would be.

I always wondered too. Here's a thread from 5 years ago: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...n-lsd-too.html

fwiw, here's a description from Porsche's own 993 literature:

"The center differential measures engine temp, rpm, and power output before deciding how much slip there will be between the front and rear axles. A locking differential in the rear administers the torque split between the rear wheels. These 2 differentials send the engine's power to the wheel having the most grip. They are augmented further by the ABD (Automatic Brake Differential), which is an ABS driven traction device that helps reduce wheelspin further."

They all do - manual tranny, LSD, 4-channel ABS. If you have a C4S, jack up the car, and rotate the rear wheels. Both should move in the same direction. If they don't it means the LSD plates have worn out. Again, they all have LSD.

Here is the list of standard options a US C4S has: 032 058 130 197 218 220 224 235 288 323 329 335 339 379 380 413 423 434 441 454 455 480 484 491 530 534 544 553 562 566 567 573 576 599 602 650 651 657 660 685 912 937 946 975

Don't believe me? Take your C4S to a Porsche dealer and have them run the VIN in their system. You'll get that same sequence of 3-digit option codes.

Every time I see this kind of thread, I think of this: I guess this guy really loved his limited slip differential...

Just contact Guards Transmission. You might consider better quality plates, in particular when the car sees the track.

+1 the plasma sprayed plates are much more durable.

If one's lsd fail the tire turn test, it doesnt necessarily mean the diff is entirely inop, just that you've lost clutch pack preload.
