Deck Lid "Carrera" Badge Replacement
Hello - Thanks a bunch for all the informative posts. They have been a huge help learning about my new "Mistress in the Garage". I'm wondering if anyone has had this experience. My deck lid plastic badge has partially broken off. I have an OEM replacement and am trying to figure a way to get the original cement-like glue off the deck lid. Man, this stuff is like granular concrete. I've tried goo-gone which didn't do a thing. I'm almost tempted to stick the new one over the old adhesive but really don't like that idea. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much, and GREAT FORUM!
Regards,

Heat it up with a hair dryer and keep using the Goo Gone. It will come off eventually.

To remove the rest of the badge, continue using the hair dryer to soften the glue. Then use dental floss to cut through it.

On this subject, does anyone have a "fool proof" way of exactly centering that badge with you replace it?
Is there a template, or do you just measure with a micrometer and mark it with a grease pencil??

Try using blue or green painter's tape to establish 'guide lines' at the bottom and side.
That should help a bit.

Badges ?
We don't need no stinkin' Badges!
Kidding aside, I have had mine off since 30K miles. Available for anyone that needs a replacement.
FS - $20 shipped.
You'd just need to clean up and reapply trim adhesive.
Best,
Matt

I wanted to go badgeless, problem is there is a "ghost" mark in the paint so for me it was not an option.

A good detailer can correct that paint for you if that is a concern.
Personally, I like the badge, then again I like the basket handle.
