I think the only non-metallics that aren't cleared are white and black, and I'm not even sure about those either. It's an easy test - just take a piece of terry cloth or whatever and rub vigorously on the under side or your gas flap and if you get colour, then it's single stage. Easy peasy.
You can also try just scraping the hood with a screwdriver, a chisel or maybe an awl. If you see flakes of clearcoat come off with the paint, then you have 2 stage paint.
