It's always something. We're trying to sell out house and move to Atlanta, so all "disposable" cash is being held onto tightly. But ARRRGHGHH!!! Did I mention... ARRRGHH! and STRECK!!!

Why is a black interior so much "better" than gray?

That is such a personal question... there certainly is no interior color that is "better" than another...it's just a matter of what people like on average, how many prefer this to that, etc. I remember awhile back there was a signal green 94 3.6 turbo that I thought was just about the coolest Porsche I had ever seen. If I had the money (it was expensive), I would have owned it in a heartbeat. But I bet the buying population for that car was smaller than for a Silver, Black or even Guards Red car. My observation on interiors is that the general population prefers the "all business" look of black the most. That doesnt make it better, just more mainstream maybe. For me, the reason is more practical (although I do like the all business part). I find that the black interior hides imperfections much better than the lighter grey and cashmere -- seems to me that seat wear, spills, stains, age in general show easier on the lighter interiors. Again, purely a personal thing... I think...

I too like riv blue just as much as many of you.
just think it's funny every time one of these threads comes up, that very few had the ***** to order this color on the 993.
Seems like the consensus favorite "odd ball" color
