Another wheel offset question......... As if there isent enough....
So I have done research and searched but still have no understanding in how I can calculate this problem.
So I need you wheel guys to help out.
My car is pretty low but does not rub anywhere with the Stock 18" Turbo Twists, but it is close in the rear.
My question is how much farther will this wheel really be out compared to what I have on the car now.
Now (Rears) 18X10 ET65 (Right? stock solid spoke Twists)
New wheels 18X9.5 ET47
I know the offset is 18mm farther out but does the 1/2" in less width make a diffrence?

In all practicality you can ignore the 1/2" difference in rim width (unless the clearance is very, very close). Unless your car is very, very low, what affects the clearance will be the section width of the tire...and while the width of the tire will be 1/2" narrower at by the rim lip, at the tread there will be practically no width difference.
If you are trying to fit these on a narrow body the answer is they won't fit (at least not with 285 tires). Even a 9" ET52 requires some fender rolling to fit. BTW you may also have a slight clearance difference btn the right and left sides...could be as much as 1/4" difference.

Check out this wheel size calculator. It's the best one I've seen on the web.

The most aggressive offset that I've seen on a narrowbody are ET52. There are a few guys that are running this offset with 9", 10" or 11" width rims, and all of them had to roll the fenders and were limited to max of 285 tires. Frankly IMHO a 265 tire may not make a big difference since a 265 in one brand/model of tire can have just as large a section width (and possible greater) than a 285 tire in another brand/model.
