Default Dach X Sport Cat and headshields?

I just recieved my new 200cell Dach X sport catalytic converter and I am wondering what to do about the headshield. The old one is rusty so needs to be changed or removed completely. Chris from Dach Performance suggested to remove and not replace but I'm wondering what others here have done? What's the downside to leaving it on???

Anyone? My car is in the shop now and I need to decide if I should keep the heat shield or not? Thanks.

How much could it possibly weigh?? I doubt any advantage would be noticeable vs. the risk of heat melting the rear bumper?

hey finally, get hung up in customs? Glad you got them, anyway. .....The pipe will fit whether its there or not, so its up to you, take it off or don't won't matter. As for weight, its an insignificant amount. If its loose and all rusted up and/or rattles get rid of it.

Hi Chris -it's still in customs but I will pick it up tomorrow. I'm having a few other things done at the same time and the CAT will be the last thing to go back on.

Thanks!
