Sorry for reposting but the first attempt a few weeks ago was botched.
l995 Porsche 911 C2 Cabriolet $38,000
17,420 miles. Newer Tires. Black exterior with Cashmere interior. Super Clean. 6-Speed. 18 inch turbo twist wheels. No scratches or dents. Always kept in garage. Top is in like new condition. Rear window is clear.
Recently installed new sound system with IPOD and Bluetooth integration. Speaker was a nice fit in spare switch case above radio. Check out picks using the link. With exception of head unit, the car remains stock in appearance. Dealer installed radar with front and rear radar warning lights. This was in the car and installed to the left of the start key. The warning lights are fitted on either side of the tach. Also a very nice addition. It works well on the highway. All Books and manuals. I also have maxspeed sport mufflers installed http://www.maxspeed-motorsports.com/993mufflers.html. Overall a very nice package.
In the last 12 months the following maintenance items have been performed;
1. Cabin filter
2. Engine air filter
3. Distributer-cap and rotors
4. Front and rear boot struts
5. Spark plugs (12),
6. Engine, transmission, brake and clutch fluid changed and flushed
7. Replaced all original speakers
8. New set of COCO Floor mats
Story: I purchased her last year from an older gentleman who had owned the car for the previous 15 years. PO maintained duel residence in South Florida and Chicago. This was his evening car to take to dinner when he was in Florida. Car was purchased with only 11k miles. He was a collector of sorts of air cooled Porsche's. PO also has a 96 twin turbo and a 97 C2 as well as a P51 Mustang airplane. He was moving the turbo down from Chicago so he listed the cab for sale. He did an excellent job maintaining the car both mechanically and cosmetically. The valve cover seals had been replaced as well as some general items like the alternator and a recall on the wiring harness. He also had the hood re-sprayed to fix a few rock chips that he indicated greatly bothered him. No accidents were reported by Carfax. I drove it from South Florida to Tulsa without incident. I have driven it around 6,000 miles since purchasing the car. The car runs beautifully. Smooth idle. Air works in the 100+ summer days in Tulsa. The cab was my first Porsche and I am now fully bitten by the Porsche bug. My garage is only so big though and I must sell the Cab to keep all my cars out of the weather. My daily driver will be out side until she sells though.

I generally agree with all of the thoughts on the 993 versus 996. For me the decision was based on wanting a car that I could bring to the track occasionally. That being said, the 996 Anniversary Edition was done right. Everything from the interior to the fitted matching luggage. I purchased it from my neighbor and the car is basically like new with 25k. The 345 hp engine is a different animal compared to the 993. Not nearly as sweet off idle or just driving around town. But, once it is in launch mode it certainly has longer legs than a 993 and really rips above 5000 rpm. The car has taken a tremendous depreciation hit since 2004 (97k to 38k) and is certainly not done depreciating. I guess I will feel better about driving the 996 as a daily driver in the rain. Seems the 993's are holding or even recovering value lately. They certainly are not making any more of them. Maybe nobody will buy it and I will just keep both cars. Thanks for all the help on 993 issues over the last year.

For 38K you could have bought a 996 turbo with the same mileage. I hope the 996 works well for you. A different animal than the 993; and still a fine car. Good luck.

As for the 996, it happened to Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg), hopefully she wont take a leak on you.

+1. Had two of them, a 99 with factory aero kit and an 02 with sport package, but in the end the 993 calls my name. They feel like fast and competent touring cars, but not the sports car that is the 993.

Maybe no one in his right mind would take a convertible without some kind of roll protection out on a racetrack. Unless you're just in the total-beginner-cruising group. I loathe instructing in convertibles, but usually get stuck in one at least one time at each event. We're usually going slower than what I could drive the smart around, though.
