Default Mike Valentine

So I travel an hour south to north of Cincinnati to purchase a Valentine 1 unit from the factory so I can talk with the techs and save the shipping. While I'm waiting for my order to be processed, a new black Panamera Turbo drives up and parks and the driver walks in.

So I ask him how he likes the car, and as I introduce myself I discover I'm talking to Mike Valentine (who, BTW, grew up in Dayton, OH)!! We spend 25 minutes talking mostly about cars and his business. He is a DE instructor and has been for years, owns a 05 Carrera GT and has owned Porsches (a lot of them by his testimony) for quite a while.

He's a very personable and fun guy to talk to, wheter it's about his technolgy, company history or Porsches (his favortie of the three I think). Very cool experience.

Cool story. I haven't been a fan of the Panamera when I see pics of it but whenever I see one in person I love it.

That's awesome. I loved my Valentine 1 until a fine urban gentleman elected to remove it from my dash through my window without my consent.

Haven't seen Mike in years. He told you the truth...definitely has P-Car genes running in his blood. If memory serves me, he had a '73 RS a while back. For those who may not know, Mike was co-founder of Cincinnati Microwave (ESCORT Radar Detectors). They sold out and Mike later developed the Valentine 1.

He's a regular (or at least used to be) in the Carrera GT forum.

Yeah, a couple years ago at a DE at Putnam Park, I was parked next to a yellow Carerra GT. Owner was a pretty nice fellow who vaguely looked familiar, then I figured it out. Nice guy. I refrained from complaining to him about how bad the laser detection works in my V1.

I think he told me his wife has the '73 RS and has it in 98% concours condition. We talked about a lot of car stories so I may have that part a bit off.

If any of you get a chance to spend time, he's a great guy.
