Default Invisible car

Well it must be right... since it appears a number of us are getting rear ended. Add me to the list

Don't know the extent of the damage yet, doesn't look horrible but I bet underneath some things will need fixed. Anyone have recommendations of repair shops near the Tricities WA (3 hours from Portland / Seattle / Spokane).

Perhaps my winter project should include this mod:

I'm sorry to see that. But you're very lucky his bumper is so low. Otherwise you'd be looking at not only replacing the bumper, but tail lights, deck lid, and possibly a quarter panel or two. Seriously, you did well considering the circumstances.

That's terrible! What happened? What were the circumstances? Good luck with the repairs in either event.

I've used this Seattle shop in the past with good results:

I recently heard that this Lake City (north Seattle) shop is a current favorite with PCA/Pacific Northwest Region members:

Sorry, but at least no one was hurt ...

its probably less invisible car, and more too much texting/cell phone use. around here the rear end collisions are becoming epidemics. I ride a motorcycle and its seriously scary seeing the number of drivers texting while they should be driving - and not on deserted stretches of road but in heavy trafficked areas.

I ride an Aprilia Tuono and it freaks me out too. Getting the 993 was partly to get me off the bike. Its working....

Thanks for the words condolence. I'll be shopping around for a good shop starting Monday, I've heard good things about haury's JPP. There are a few recommended shops here in town I thought I'd at least talk to.

I was hoping that with the cellphone and texting law becoming a primary offence here in WA it would cut down on the number of distracted drivers I see... not sure if that's actually happening.

I was sitting at a stop sign waiting for traffic to clear to turn right, the guy thought I had already turned and couldn't stop in time when he realized I hadn't. The guy was very civil and provided all the info I requested, so at least it doesn't appear this is going to be a hassle on that end.

Here's what I heard recently from an Insurance Broker. In today's insurance system, even when it's clearly the other guy's fault, if your insurance company has to put in a claim with his insurance company, it goes on YOUR driving record and is paid out under Collision with a higher deductible. If the guy had no insurance, or just drove off, your insurance company would cover it under 'no fault' and it would pay out from Comprehensive with a lower deductible and no driving record entry! Nice, huh?

All's well that ends well. Finally picked up the car today... took them what felt like an eternity. But they did a nice job. Looking forward to driving around again.

Looks great! What did the repair bill look like and what had to be fixed?
