FS: Brand New M033 shocks
SOLD!
Thanks.
Original Post --
I have a set of Monroe M033 ROW shocks that I bought a few weeks ago. I decided at the last minute to go with HD's instead, so I have these in my garage now.
They are sealed in the original Porsche boxes (except one I took out for photos - so you can see they are the green Monroes). Part numbers are in the photos.
Sunset sells them for $333 each for the fronts and $282 for each of the rears that would be a total of $1,230.
How about $650+ shipping from CA for the set.
Let me know if you are interested.
-------
There was a lot of interest in these and I thought they were sold (a couple of times), but it turns out there's some confusion about what these are.
So let me do my best to clarify:
1. These are the M033 shocks (not a variation of M030), they ARE for use with ROW height springs, but they are not the "sport" package (M030) springs. I know the part number for these is different from the M030 part number, but don't know how much difference there is in the valving, etc.
2. M033 is the ROW version of the standard suspension on the 993's. Lower than US, but same spring rate.
3. If you want a full set of M033 springs and shocks you are probably better off buying the kit from Sunset, since you get a discount on the springs that way...I've given that advice to a couple of RL members who inquired.
4. These would be a great buy if you have M033 and need to replace the shocks or want to have back-ups for when you do need to replace them.
5. If you want to keep your 993 all OEM and want to have the stock spring rate, with the ROW ride height, these are the way to go.
6. I expect these would work fine with M030 springs (since the springs are the same length), but I can't say whether the valving would be a good match for the spring rate...so if you are considering that, you should do some research.
Anyway, they are still for sale, please PM me if you are interested. $650 + shipping from CA for the set of 4 brand new shocks.
Thanks.

I think they will work with any ROW height spring... just not sure how well matched they'd be to stiff springs like HR's.

Yes, and I like it. I've not ridden in an M030 w/HD's, but have heard some complain of harshness (purely personal perference, I know). These ride very nicely and the car handles very well too. I did replace the sway/anti-roll bars with the ROW turbo bars so it corners pretty flat and still gives a nice ride.

That's exactly what I'm going to do when it is time to refresh the suspension on my C4S. I'm only worried about it being too low for my drive, but your car doesn't look too low.

Mine is set to ROW sport - basically the height settings shown on the suspension install DIY. I've had no issues with speedbumps, but have rubbed a little on one driveway.

I believe these will fit all model year normally aspirated 993's (don't know about the turbos) as long as you have ROW springs (lowered ride height). They are not designed to work with US spec springs.
Optimal fit will be for cars that have the M033 springs since their valving is optimized for those springs, but they will fit with other springs as long as the springs are ROW length.
