Can I put 295/30/18 on a stock 10Jx18 factory WB twist wheel?
I think I'm okay here but would like to get confirmation from lister's who know more about this than I do.
Will a 295/30/18 rear tire mount and look correct on a stock Porsche WB rear wheel?
From a post I found and pasted below it looks like it will work. Thank you in advance.
Jim,
Here is some more information that may help out:
Stock Porsche Wide Body Wheels:
Front - 8Jx18 - 993.362.136.00/01
Rear - 10Jx18 - 993.362.140.00/03
Offsets: 52mm (f), 40mm (r)
Weights: 26(f) /31(r)
Tires: 225/40/18 / 285/30/18
I ran BBS RS-GTs on the track for a while and following are the specs for them. I had no problems with fitment and didn't need any sort of spacer. I loved these wheels on my C4S and will be getting them again once I have the club racer hopefully soon.
BBS - RS GT
Saves 26lbs
F/R - 21/23 lbs
F/R - 18", 8.5/11 (offsets: 56/45)
F/R - 235/40/18 / 295/30/18
It was my understanding that because the aftermarket wheels were wider than the OEMs that the offsets needed to change somewhat (like splitting the distance). These fit just fine.
I hope this helps.

Mark, for what it's worth...I have that tire on the rear of my 95-993 NB mounted to RUF 10x18 ET66. ROW suspension. Tight but fills wheel well with no rubbing (wheels came with PS tires installed on a 996)
Will probably go back to the standard tire 265x35-18 for the rear when replacement time rolls around. FWIW the larger tires are actually smaller in diameter 25" .vs 25.3" for the 265s. Not sure if its worth the extra coin.....

It does work just fine. I use 295-30 in the rear and 235-40 up front on a ROW hieght c4s with no porblems or rubbing at all. They are the stock widebody wheels on there now. It looks like I have a similar suspension set up as you, too. Hope this helps.

I think it depends on what size tire you have on the front.., if you mismatch the tires, I believe it will screw up your ABS.. you have to keep the "ratio of the rolling diameters" the same or close to the factory recommended.. I recently went through a similar issue while shopping for 996 WB tires..

Should be no problem on NB car.
I have a 95 NB with 235-40 & 295-30 on 8 & 10 inch K-28's.
More than enough room. I even added 5mm spacer to rear.
Had the fenders rolled just in case I want to go 305/315 one day.

it should work. my car had that rear tire size before. since i live in a city with terrible roads, i wanted a little bit thicker tire and went 235/40 F and 285/35 R. it works very well with the 993
