Funny because we all seem to know or have met someone of this nature. Nothing funnier than the truth. Ha! And I can relate to the "Miata driver"...

 

Very funny and spot on, typical of more money than talent & experience, we see this often in kart racing, where new members want to go straight to the fastest class because of ALL their previous experience, and then when they get out on track, they realize they are in way over their head.

 

I went out kart racing for the first time in probably 15 years with a bunch of senior instructors after a DE at Summit last month...

...and subsequently got lapped by just about every kart... though I *did* shave a full 11 seconds off my average lap time after three sessions.

Completely different animal after spending two days in a street car - fun as heck, though!

 

Classic. Last DE at Sebring 2 Corvette ZR1s went off-roading....

 

Funny but true. There's almost always a guy like that at every event...
