On a recent drive on a hot day, I ran the AC on high in my new-to-me 95 C2 and enjoyed a good blast of cold air. When I shut off the AC , there was a whistling sound like a steam kettle running out of steam. This happened each time I shut off the AC from high.

I have done a search and am aware there are many AC threads, but I have not come across symptoms like these.

Any ideas as to the problem? Vacuum leak?
