Default Starting issue , any thoughts?

Hi,
Today I went to take the 993 for a drive to get gas and go to the store.
I drive the car 2 or 3 times a month.

I went to start it and it didnt start, the engine would turn over and nothing check engine light was on.
The fuel level look low so I thought maybe I ran to low on fuel.
I added about 1 gallon , when in side for about a hour to do some other things and came out and it started.
I pulled it out and drove down the alley about 50 yrds and while climbing up a hill the check engine light came on and it died.
I let it roll down to level ground and waited a min and it started.
I did a lap around the house and drove streight to the gas station to fill up about 3 miles from the house.
I filled the car with it running and pulled out to the light , and it dies again , check engine light.
This time no starting , it would turn over and start to fire , then nothing .
I get towed home, and in front of the house it starts again , and I drive it around to the garage (100 yrd) died again , check engine light .

The car is a 1995 with 81,000 miles
is this the DME relay? or should I look at something else?
I wanted to see the forums thoughts before I tow it to the Porsche dealer.

Thanks

Your problem sounds fuel related. I would start there. First, the DME relay. Worth buying and itf it's not the culprit it's good to have a spare. From there I'd test the fuel pump and swap the fuel filter.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,
Joe

Agreed.... start with the easy stuff first. DME then fuel filter then check for loose wires then dealer.

Last time it was started was it quick on and off? I started mine one time just long enough to pull it forward and shut it off right away......next time I tried to start it I had a hard time. Now when I wash it and need to pull it back in the garage I let it warm up a bit.
