The 'Evora' thread and a thread about 911 owners at Lotus Talk made me wonder who here owns a Lotus Elise or Exige in addition to their 993? I've been toying with the idea of a Lotus for a couple of years, but have yet to take the plunge. Any Lotus owners care to comment on their ownership experience, and how the little plastic go kart compares to their Porsche?

I have had 3 lotus esprits and one Europa, great fun to drive, superb balance and very forgiving if you over cook it. The esprits motors did not last long without major attention and the general build quality was nowhere near that of a porsche. I remember spending most sundays fixing things that had fallen off during the week. saying that the new models have toyota power and have lost none of the razor sharp handling according to Mr Clarkson. I doubt if there's much that will come up behind you on a twisty road in the new Evora.

much better handling than 993.
fun to drive.
very reliable, never had a problem.
put 30,000 miles on my exige in one year.
