Default Who do I pay to remove the cosmoline from my car?

Seriously, can't I just hire someone to do this? I don't have patience or facility to take on this job. Any ideas?

My car looks decent when viewed from the top, but the bottom looks like I ran it through molasses.

Sure, what's the pay? Nothing illegal in contracting with someone to perform that service.............. (Not to say I would ever, ever, ever, ever assist in that task again for a full concours car.)

Ok Andreas. We haven't met. But really. Come on. I'll pay you in microbrews. I'm not that far away...relative to Australia anyhow.

For real. There has to be someone who will endure this filth for some cash.

race911. I'll enter a concourse if you'll help. Surely I'll lose, but hey, my car will be clean.

Its a daily driver. But I try to care for it concours-style.

How about...I'll let you help me clean this crap if you let me drive your Radical. Sounds fair to me.

As the years go by, this would be a really weird story to tell your grandchildren...Back when I was young, We use to pay people to come over to clean and polish the underneath of our cars!
Think of how they will all look at you as they start to hide the sharp utensils during Thanksgiving dinner!
Mom...grandpa's weird!

I remember the smell of cosmoline on the new 993's. It was so wet and thick it would be dripping off and that sweet burning smell.... MMmmm Like grandmas apple pie.

Cosmoline is always a good sign of an original part and a car that hasn't been to hell and back. When looking at a car as a buyer it is comforting to see it on all the suspension components.

I would like to refresh the cosmoline on my car -- it's looking a little worn, and has flaked off in some places. Does anyone know who I can pay to reapply it?

Should only take 15 minutes for a good coat.

Little longer for Andreas, you may consider renting a power sprayer from home depot. They do sell it in a 5 gallon bucket.

So, Andreas, that is impressive. Is this a toothbrush and elbow grease project or is there a more efficient way? Great job!!

What you see is the result of countless hours spent under the car during the winter months - over the last 4+ years...

The car currently has 53,000 miles.
