Default 993 Key Blank - Will VW Fit?

Does anybody know what VW key blanks would work for a 993? Or any other makes? I would appreciate any help as I just acquired a 95 and have only one key... making me nervous.

Thanks,

Dave

Welcome to Rennlist

I bought a cheap set from ebay 2 generic blanks and a cheesy keychain for $9.99 and I purchased an extra factory blank and keyhead for quite a bit more. Took the cheap ones to a local hardware store and had him try on the cheap ones first, figured I wouldn't be out much if it didn't work.

All 3 worked, $2.00 each for cutting them. They were listed as blanks for all 911 years 81 to 98, sorry no part #.

For those that are wondering this idiot now has 4 keys to his car

I used Audi blanks from a local locksmith. I would think VW would be the same as Audi. It was a little challenging for them to cut because of the shorter teeth.

I always go to a professional locksmith to cut Porsche keys. Ask me how I know...

I rocking the hollow head 914 key. Italian replicas used to be cheaper on ebay, but Pelican has genuine for $16 each.
