Protomotive Turbo Kit - Six Months Update
So it has been about six months since I had the Protomotive turbo kit installed. Unfortunately, I did not Dyno the car prior to the turbo kit, hence I have no idea how much I actually have gained via this set up.
The guesstimate would be around 50 HP and 50 torque (assuming the stock engine had a peak HP of 250 and max torque of 220). I am currently maxing out at a boost of 0.5 bar (about 6-7 psi) to avoid the engine to blow up
Since I still have the stock cats (with no mufflers) I am planning to install the X-Pipe Fabspeed with sport cats (200 cell) to hopefully gain another 15 hp and definitely a louder exhaust note.
In summary, the turbo boost is very addicting and very easy to get used to. I am seriously thinking of joining the local "TA" group (Turbo Anonymous) as I sometimes have thoughts of going to stage 2
Below the Dyno video and results

What are your AFRs? I am a little surprised that you are not putting down more than 300whp and 270wlb.ft....even at 5psi.

Something does not seem right. My supercharged 993 put 320whp to rear wheels and I know the Proto TT kit has more potential. Have you discussed with Paul or John?

Gappy, I'll most likely see you on Sunday. Thanks for the note earlier

Boost is as addictive as crack. So let me be the first to tell you: You (and your credit card, and that would be the LARGE card) are already dead meat.

I decided not to go with the X Pipe project. Cost Benefit analysis just did not make sense. If anything I should go with the no cats route; straight pipes out of the turbos. But I am not prepared to go to that extreme (smell and too loud)
Protomotive claims approx 395 hp at the crank witht he twin turbo kit so that its about 317 hp at the wheel (assuming +/- 20% loss between the two)
The Dyno was done without a fan blowing on the intercooler, so chances are that I lost 10-20 HP due to the hot temperature. This means I am just around where I should be with the setup eg 307 HP +/- 10 HP.
I would probably do another dyno in the fall/winter when the temp is around 40/50 F vs 80 F last week. That should improve the HP measurement tremendously.
For now, lets not fix whats broken and give my credit card a rest it deserves

A fellow rennlister Monglerat was kind enough to create a more informative graph including the AFR chart. It seems my car is running lean at first and then richer than it needs to be above 5,500RPM as it moves away from the sweet spot at 13. Is this different between turbo and NA cars? Or is my AFR out of whack after 5,500 RPM?

Your AFRs are too lean...I would not run my turbo car above 11.5 or 11.8 at wide open throttle. My car runs a little fat and in the 10s at WOT at 1 bar (14.7psi)
Are you running a rising rate fuel press regulator, what is base fuel pressure set at? What fuel pumps and injectors? What plugs...what plug gap? All important in turning a tuning a turbo car.
Dyno and no fans is a definite no-no!
