I bought a high milage 96 cab
I have been sitting on the sideline of this forum for months just reading and learning. I finally found a 96 cab that I pulled the plug on. 1 owner car 92,000 miles top end rebuild and clutch done at 64,000 by Carelson Porsche. New brakes and bridgestone so2s. Full service records. Polor silver not many options. Very clean inside and out just room for a little fine detailing. Cab top and motors in great condition. Had ppi done leakdown and compression both good. Has not used any oil in 1500 miles from last service. I paid 23,500 found it on craigslist owner had 13 calls but I was first and pretty aggresive. Owner is in his 70s and just could not drive the the car any more. Thanks to the members of this forum I learned tons and was ready when I found what I wanted. I also have a Shelby gt500 in Vista Blue.

I don't think 92K is 'high mileage', I'm pushing 140K, car is running fine - only serious work is a clutch change (just finishing that), valve cover gasket changes (leak), and the usual SAI valve (be sure to change it if you haven't). These engines are good for at least a quarter million miles, maybe more. The clutch I just changed was the original one from the factory - if you don't thrash the clutch you will get over 100K on it - but, in my experience, every time the front pads wear out, the rotors are beyond limit also, so now I just automatically change rotors with pads (I get around 50K on a set of front pads, about 100K on rears).

23k is a steal these days.
Nice cabs are around 30k consistantly.
With all the money you saved we can come up with a nice list of mods for you-Hah
Good luck

I actually picked this one because I wanted a virgin. One thing I am not sure of is condition of the suspension as I get into her a little more I may do a few tweaks.

I'm sure I saw that one for sale, but no more silver for me. You'll enjoy it; sounds about the point in time I picked my C4S up, and it will likely cost you little-to-nothing for as long as you have it.

Got my 95 Polar Silver Coupe last July with 38K on the clock and the stock shocks/struts were shot. Visible oil leaking from most of them. The car did sit for a long stretch which is probably the reason they went bad so fast. i can imagine if you still have the stockers on there the're most likely long gone. Which would be a perfect time to lower the car.
