Alignment in Denver ??
I’m looking for a first class alignment of my MY98 993 C2S w/ M033 factory suspension; not that the M033 should matter. The last alignment was performed by Porsche AGs Werk 1 facility when the M033 was installed; About 25K miles and 9 years ago. Man,,, Porsche's Werk 1 facilities alignment of the 993C2S was ***** on!
While on hwy I-70 in the middle of Kansas the right rear tire was struck by a solid metal “tire iron” of sorts which had fallen off a passing semi truck. A brandy new rear Michelin PS2 tire took the hit with the tire iron projectile puncturing right through the OEM Cup II rim; 9Jx17’’ et 55. The inflateable spare tire would roll on for the next 500 miles all be it at or below 55MPH. Hwy I-70 through Kansas sucks.
With a new Cup II rim and a new Michelin tire mounted the alignment seems off. I’m in Vail as we speak with a planned rode trip to Atlanta in the near term. Could always wait on any alignment refinement until ATL but would hate to eat up the rear tire(s) during the 1500 mi trek.
Who in Denver knows the funky-elusive kinematic 993 rear end?

Hike,
Check with Dart 303.296.1188-just north of I-70 by the old airport. Also Eurosport 303.789.2545 - Rob south Denver (they have to borrow the fixture).
There is also another shop in Loveland that has a good reputation on alignment but doesn't do the rear toe set.
hope this helps...

Thanks ilko & Jim for the Denver area alignment shop recommendations. A call to 3R Racing in Englewood, CO and Paul there pointed me in the direction of the P-car dealership for a street inspired alignment. (my 993 has a totally Euro C2S factory M033 arrangement. Yup, stock 17' Cup II wheels and all)
I rang up the Porsche District Area Rep who is an old friend. He has arranged for a tech (Todd) at Stevinson Porsche to do a thorough alignment tomorrow at 7:30am. Seem's Todd has extensive 993 series 911 knowledge. A couple of hours in the shop and I should be in the wind to ATL.
Thanks again for your swift reply's... http://www.dartauto.com

I just had this completed at a local dealer (PM me if you want the name) after some very unfavorable results from a local independent. The dealer spent a significant amount of time "dialing" in everything and I am very pleased with the results. They provided me with all of the exact specifications on the before and after settings, etc.
I have gone the independent route and the dealer route and frankly, unless the independent has the kinematic toe tool, I am only going to use the dealer for alignments.

Jim: I'll be sure to provide the before and after alignment settings snap shots.
I do hope this alignment episode turns out to have an "under promised, over delivered" ending as the previous road going alignment settings suited the 993 just right. The 993 was always planted, never nervous.

Just made Atlanta this afternoon, 5:30 to be exact. I passed on the Stevinson/Denver aligment after all. The 100mi drive from Vail to Denver on Thursday morning indicted an alignment adjust if any could wait. The 993 made the 1500 mile Vail to ATL like a Champ! Dig this, 24-25MPG all the while doing 80MPH. Our MY05 Subi Outback XT wagon, a 2.5l boxer turbo, would range 17-19mpg as best. Man I hate that car... sure miss the Audi UrS6 wagon it replaced; very much 2 different league's...
A Colorado State Patrol (Burlington) let me (us) slide with a warning on a 92 in a 75MPH. It was the basic speed limit plus 6 from then on... Kinda.
Thanks All for your assist.
