Yeah... don't get it.

I am firm believer in smoking 'em if you got 'em, and I never reproach anyone for their success or good fortune.

But the new owner strikes me as a real dork.

Whatever.

My thoughts exactly.

I always had trouble explaining to my non trader friends that when I made up my mind to do something.......I meant let's do it NOW!

Sounds like he had a no limit market order. He got it filled. More power to him!

I admit that I do have to agree with the above posts. The real Mr. Cool would have never posted the purchase in the first place. The majority of big ticket buys go unsung.

It was a form of grandstanding disguised not to look like grandstanding. And obviously we all know that he knew what he wanted to buy; it certainly wasn't an "impulse" buy in the true sense.

But nevertheless, it was an entertaining thread. And I give it points for that. I congratulated him on his purchase. We all like attention sometimes, it's perfectly normal. And spending that kind of money means you appreciate all the pats-on-the-back you can get in whatever form they arrive.

About the RS: A great car but that is a lot of lipstick. You can order them without the decals and red wheels, yes? Any links to pics of just straight color schemes?

Still, a fun read ..... BTW, notice how many posters in that higher bracket forum cannot front $18 for a membership?
yep

C'mon, is this guy a scam? There isn't a picture in that thread that conclusively ties that car to the O.P.

Haaaaaaaa JP, I thought the same thing. But, I prefer to think that there are folks out there that can do things like this. Unlike myself who thinks it over, loses sleep and then finally pulls the trigger when all the stars line up.

Not sure I buy it, but it might be nonfiction.

And agree that the membership refrain is tired.

I read the first four pages and skipped to number eight thinking the guy would be exposed as a fraud, but nope!

I think he just plain made out like a freakin' bandit and now has a great new toy. More power to him!

I would have gone for gold on white, but that's just me...actually if I had stupid money like that I'd buy a 993 Turbo S...but again, whatever makes you happy!

agree.

threads about DIY engine rebuilds are far more interesting and useful than a wealthy guy looking for a car, buying that car fairly quickly.

Not to mention, its not that hard to find a new car you like. no PPIs, no possible accidents, no flaky private party sellers, etc.
