Windshield...reuse original seal??????????
Having windshield replaced. Can't find enough on whether the seal is routinely reused. It looks and works fine. Have some experience with 964 seal shrinkage and this one retains it's original feel.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I dunno ...as seldom as one replaces glass, wouldn't it make sense to just get a new one? Also, get the "rope" from the dealer to help quell the squeaks. Anyone got the TSB or p/n for this piece? I just picked up a windshield crack last month, and she's a growin!

personally I change all seals with new windshield. Fat chance the old one lets water through, into the groove

I went thru three windshield replacements on my 993, all covered under insurance glass coverage. The first job included only the glass, not the seals. There are actually two windshield seals, inner and outer. Not replacing the seals turned out to be a major mistake. In outer seal snaps into a plastic channel on the edge of the windshield and failed after a few month, braking away at the top of the windshield, making major ruckus at speed. The glass shop shop attempted to glue the outer seal back but that failed again forcing the shop to replace the screen again, this time with all new seals. Save yourself some time and have piece of mind by replacing both seals. They are relatively cheap:
Outer Seal: 993.541.925.00 - $37
Inner Seal: 993.541.435.00 - $30
