Default Odyssey batteries?

Thinking of getting one to save some weight...especially since Rennline currently has the mounts on sale

So the question is: 925 or 680? Is the 680 a reasonable choice for a street car that is not daily driven and can handle the slight drain? Or is better for a track car with the battery disconnected when not in use?

I put a 680 in my 964 about 2 months ago.

It sits on a C-Tek trickle charger when not in use and the car is mainly track but some drive to work and errands too.

I have never had any starting issues, including at the track when we were stopping and starting the car regularly all day.

I have the 925 in mine. Been there for ~1.5 years. I ran it down at the track a few weeks ago, but that was my fault. Other than that, no issues ever. I occasionally put it on a Battery Tender Jr and the car is used as a weekend car.

You'll be saving about 25 pounds. Worth it on a street car?

You are way down on the specs: Ah, CCA, RC. I'm glad I had a new East Penn group 48 battery in my car. I needed the 110 minutes of reserve capacity this past Sunday. My alternator belt broke 100 miles from home; my spare belt was at home.

Also, the Odyssey batteries need a slightly higher charge end voltage if you want to get the maximum life out of them. What is your voltage regulator set to?

I had a 925 in my car several years ago. After a year or so it started failing to start car, even after several hours of driving. I went back to standard interstate battery and have no more issues.
I would NOT reccomend the Odyssey for street use.

I put a 925 in my car two weeks ago along with the Rennline carrier, pretty nice stuff. Installation is pretty quick and dirty too.

I have the 925 and have had no issues. It does live on a trickle charger, though. Car is, of course, a pure track car.
