adventure green metallic
I have found a 95 adventure green metallic car and it looks alright from the photo's, is this a bad color for an initial purchase. Is it a less than desirable color?

I can't speak for others but I really like the colour (it is actually adventurine-not adventure).
Try a search in the 993 forum for "adventurine" and look at the responses. Most people post favourably for adventurine green.

It's funny. When I bought my cab years ago it was sort of a "less desirable" color. Since then, I've seen numerous comments desiring cars in that color. On the road, I have gotten nothing but compliments on it, both in sun and clouds (VERY different looks). Aventurine w Cashmere Int: a great combo.
I saw a 997 in a similar scheme, though it's not called Aventurine, and may be a hair lighter.
STILL looked better on a 993 ;-)

With no value judgement stated or implied, I think Aventurine is one of the slightly unusual, cool, conservative, 'safe' colors. Arena Red also fills that bill. Probably Ocean Blue and Iris Blue also.
Polar, Arctic, and Black are the really common 'safe' colors.
Guards Red is for those who are playing it safe, but want to be seen as daring.
GP White is nice.
Riviera Blue is for... well, that's already been addressed.
Speed Yellow is for those who strive for excellence.
