Dcdude will have to be there in spirit. I grew up in Potomac and miss these last two weeks of May as well as the first two weeks of September.
I went to that Silver Diner a few times when I was in Churchill High School. If memory serves, I believe that that center used to be anchored by E.J. Korvette department store. Then Erol's(?) and others moved in. I also worked at the El Torito caddy corner away that may still have Super Giant and used to have, wait for it...Hot Shoppes Cafeteria! (an early Marriott concept).

Burning Brakes
The old Super Giant is long gone but another big Giant Food was built on the other side of the same shopping center in the 80's. It was the highest volume Giant Food store until they built the one in Bailey's Crossroads. I worked in Giant I.T. dept for 20 years.
