Default Clewitt belt setup

see this thread

has anyone actually done the Clewitt setup? does this have the same issue for street cars that the RS setup has in not turning the alternator fast enough to keep up under heavy electrical loads?

I have the Clewitt serpentine setup on my car for about 10,000 miles and except for a bit lowered voltage at idle everything is fine. Nice simple setup and I trust the serpentine belt more than the o.e. v belts. I don't have to worry about that cheaply made little belt warning sensor anymore either.

This is my favorite solution for our antiquated v-belt setup. I aim to purchase one, someday.

can the crank pulley be changed in the car or is this a while you have the engine out to change the clutch or whatever job?

I have it. Works great! My engine was out for the install but you might be able to do it in the car

Though I don't have one of these, just a comment to say I knew Rich in the '80's when we were both in Phoenix. He was a first class machinist back then. Left to go run his dad's business, from what I remember. Then fiddled with the ignition stuff for his race car.....and the rest is history.

You can do it in the car and Richard's kit is the best thing out there, basically a modern 3.8 RSR setup. Doing business with Clewett is recommended.
