Question Sorting out PSS10s

Hello, I recently had PSS10s installed on my 95 993. I am really pleased with the ride quality, but they are making a weird noise. When I am turning hard at slow speed they make a spring popping noise. It sounds like the springs are binding on themselves when the wheels are hard over.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

thanks!

Joe,

This is not uncommon and its due to the front main/tender springs binding and releasing as they are being twisted. The noise comes from the coupler between the springs as well as between the spring and top hat.

The cure is to install some circular linear motion bearings between the spring package and lower perch so these can rotate smoothly when the wheels (and springs) are turned. I have them here if that helps.

David, I'm running stock drop links with M030 sways

Steve, I also have Terrat camber plates installed. Will the circular bearing work with them?

Thanks!

Yes. These fit between the spring stack and lower perch so Camber Plates are not affected unless they are rather thick. Just make sure you have sufficient threads showing above the Camber Plates.

Thanks Steve, I will call you tonight.
Can you ship to an APO--it will require using the US Postal Service.

Another thing to look at is your right rear spring perch, at the sway bar attachment. They can work loose and beat up against your suspensions side panel.
