Default Broken Clutch Pedal Pin

Driving along the other day and as I shifted into second, my clutch pedal just vanished into the floor. Gone! I managed to drive a couple of miles in second and turned left on a red light into a quieter neighborhood where I was able to stop the car and wait for AAA.

It transpires that a small metal pin right at the pedal had sheared. Has anyone else experienced this?

Happened on my previous '90 C2. Some 'expert' had installed a turbo clutch and the force required to operate it was too much for the pin. Re-engineered it to accept a hardened bolt that ultimately failed. Replaced clutch.
Shouldn't be your problem. Just be sure to get an OEM replacement.
