Default Painting wheel wells

I am touching up my wheel wells, has anyone tried brushing the paint instead of spraying. I am thinking of using a single stage enamel gloss paint. I am trying to avoid the over spray problem.

I touched mine up using a foam brush after I sprayed them and it worked fine. Just do not use a lot of reducer as the paint will run.
