Need new tach
Hi Folks,
I broke the plastic housing on my tach trying to insert it with the top dashboard installed. Note to self: need to remove dashboard to make it easier to install tachometer. Does anyone have a used tach or a recommendation on where to purchase one for a '97 C2 coupe?
Thanks,
Jeff

No need to have the dash board off.
If you have your steering wheel and column covers off, you should have plenty of room. I have done it dozens of times this way with no issues at all.
Once past the gasket, it should slide in and out.

The steering wheel does not need to be off to remove or re-install the tach.
To make re-insertion easier, try a little dishwashing soap as lube.

Do you need the whole unit, just the plastic "glass" or the housing? I should have a tach with a funky face floating around somewhere/ I was out looking for the speedo of that set and all I could find was the fuel and oil gauges. Need to dig in some more dark corners. LOL
