I'm not sure how one could get a bigger rise. But you did miss the oil level gauge question.

as newbies i feel its only fair to warn you about a guy called Mark D something or other Trolling this site offering Platinum things for very little money. I think he must be from Nigeria as I sent money but got some silly looking metal bits and pieces. After insallation My once beautifull car no longer felt like a porsche it was as if someone had magically moved the gearbox DIRECTLY UNDER THE SHIFTLEVER ,No Slop. No Crunching no more guessing if I`m heading in the right direction with each shift, it doesn`t feel at all like a porsche anymore I`m thinking contacting a lawyer so be warned.

FD,
I will share the wealth of my 3 weeks experience with you regarding these cars.

Oil: recommend Crisco pure canola - it pours quicker than that synthetic stuff.
Tire Pressure: as long as its only flat on the bottom you still 75% good. 5 PSI minimum.
Engine cover: never seen a 993 without the hood on it - CD player might get wet in the rain...
Burnt oil smell: the Crisco should help. It won't smell for long it you use it. Or try "butter flavor" and it might smell like a movie theater!!
19" wheels: a little too wide for my taste, but to each his own!

Welcome, and hang in there - it won't be long before you can start adding helpful comment of your own - like me!

Wink

What oil, tire pressures, are you guys running?
- Same as 1983 Corvette specs...
Should I leave my engine cover on? My wrench said I should leave it on.
- Leave it on...keeps antifreeze from dripping onto the driveway.
Why does my heater smell like burnt oil?
- Thats the authentic 993 New Car Smell...unlike most cars ...the smell gets stronger with age.
Do 19" wheels look good on 993s?
Not as good as 20's but you'll need spacers.
------
Just a heads up..if your thinking of buying used stock 993 mufflers get them quick...prices for used ones have been exponentially increasing in the last year and a half...some type of wierd muffler "bubble".
........
Congratulations Guys!!!

He used to sweep the shop floor for us but we couldn't stand the industrial strength cologne so we fired him. The shop smells better now.
