Default Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's---First Impressions

I have driven about 75 miles on my new set of Hankooks and have to say all is good. They are smooth, quiet, and grip well.

The Sumi's seem to be a favorite on the board lately but if anyone is thinking about tires, get the Hankooks a look.

The over all reviews are close and but the overall ratings are a little higher on the Hankooks.

For those looking to shed a few pounds the Hankooks are 4lbs lighter overall for a set of 4.

Agreed! I have about 900 miles on mine now and have been very happy.

Question

I am new to the Rennlist. I have a 1995 993 C4 (Yellow) and hoped you could bring me up to speed a bit. What performance improvements are available for the model and which are best bang for the buck? In what order would you get them? 2k miles on it, original tires, still needs engine wiring harness recall done.

Ive never been disappointed in my previous sets of Kumho and Bridgestone tires. Whether they have been $240 a tire or $120 a tire, they last about the same for me on the rears. The Hankooks feel great on the road.

Mods for a 95 C4----if it only has 2k on the clock, drive it for awhile and get used to it and the suspension would be the first thing I would do.

I just ordered a set last week and should be on the car this week. I have always gone with PS2 prior to this, but after upgrading to 18 inch wheels I was floored by the sticker shock of the tire prices - the hankooks were roughly 40% of the michelin price. I only get about 8K on a set of rears and just can't justify it based on the reviews I've read of the hankooks compared to the PS2 and on other forums.

Over 1K miles now with them on the trip. I ended up pulling the fronts before I left to check the balance on them, as the one front tire took 3.5 oz weight. On these smoooooth AZ roads, all is well. Sucks I have to go back to CA on Wednesday......

Thats one reason why I decided to buy from Discount Tires---free balance and rotation for life.

I will have a 2nd set arriving in the next week or so---bought another set of Cup II's with about 90% left on the Hankooks. Between 8 tires and 2 sets of wheels, I could see myself playing on the track or doing some DE events soon.
